Update 28 May: Things are mostly back to normal now. I even managed to recover most comments (not all—not mine). Only three images lost to the ether, too. Now I have a rather rigorous backup process in place, too. So, yay for that.
Update 26 May: Please stand by while I delete everything else! I’d been thinking it was time to redo the theme anyway, I guess…grr.
Deleted the database, and the only backup is hella out of date. Will be back once I’ve finished crawling around the Google cache of the site. Stay tuned.
OK, I’ve got all of the posts back online (thanks to Google and Live Search caches!), but of course none of the user accounts. The caches included comments, so when and if you, dear reader, create a new account, I’ll put some words in your mouth for you.
It happens sometimes. Luckily there’s google cache and the wayback machine. About a month ago I’ve lost all the attachments of a forum due to a client overwriting the whole folder, not just individual files in it. The moral of course is to backup, but it always seems everything will be ok. Anyway, good to see your blog back!
